Unwind. Relax. Restore.

Our Wellness Retreat

We had our first retreat on 16-18th April 2021. It was a huge success and will organize another one on request, minimum 5 people, else will be doing one once a year.

Reviews from participating guests:

“Everything about this retreat was just perfect for me. The beautiful accommodation with views of the mountain and dams, the fantastic vegetarian food, thank-you talented Thompson family! The best cotton sheets, the spectacular views, the attention to detail in every possible way! The happy animals from the pets to the owls, bats, toads and praying mantis created a much needed sanctuary for me. When land us in symbiosis there is a balance, hence a large variety of birds, and no mosquitos regardless of all the water. It’s truly a special place. Sharon has a  real gift in effortlessly helping people reconnect with nature and themselves. I loved all of it. Thank you from my heart. I’ll be back.”

“If I could describe my retreat weekend at Hemel en Aarde cottages, it would be one of connectedness. To nature. To inspiration. To insightfulness. To beauty. It feels as if this weekend has added the “missing ingredient”to the connections between my mind, body and attitude. My favourite moments were at sunrise in the labyrinth. Oh….and ps….the food was….well….FABULOUS! Thank you Sharon. You have reawakened my curiosity.”

“The weekend was all about connectivity, connectivity to ourselves and to the earth. Gently led by Sharon who fed us well from her bountiful pottage and coached us in mindful movement on their beautiful land. Other highlights were soaking in the KolKol hot tub under the Milky Way as well as mindful meanders through the fynbos vegetation and labyrinth. I left nourished in body and soul. Grateful.”

“If it’s peace and quiet that you are looking for, and a chance to get away from it all, then Hemel en Aarde Cottages Wellness Retreat may be what you need. The emphasis is on healthy, raw food, and Sharon and her daughters excell in providing delicious and novel raw cuisine. All vegetables are grown in the potager, and you can help extract your own beetroot and carrots for your freshly extracted juice in the morning. There are peaceful morning walks, followed by mindful movement classes, and days relaxing at the pool or on the inversion table. The weekend includes a wonderful massage, and at night you can continue the relaxation in the kolkol or wood burning hot tub under the stars. A truly calming experience and weekend that will ensure you return to life re-energised.”
